Beach is considered one of the finest beaches along the eastern coast of India.
The beach is located at a distance of 3 km from the World Heritage Site –
Konark Temple. Chandrabhaga Beach is believed to have witnessed the rise and
fall of the Konark Temple. Because of the cultural importance it holds, many
cultural activities are held at the beach. Chandrabhaga Mela, which is a
seven-day fair, is organized at the beach to honor Lord Surya.
As
you near the tranquil beach of Dagara after a bumpy drive for almost 20 km from
the nearest town of Baliapal, you receive a gracious welcome by nature through
a long stretch of red carpet cropping out of the golden sands. Dagara Beach
near the mouth of Subarnarekha River is one of Odisha's most unspoiled beaches
with a wide expanse of sandy coastline. Fenced by long stretches of casuarina
trees it is the only beach in Odisha where one can enjoy both sunrise and
sunset. The beach is known for its massive concentration of ghost red crabs.

surrounding countryside. The Subaranarekha River which originates in the high
plateau of Jharkhand in the west was a major thoroughfare in the 16th-17th
centuries CE. The Dutch and the Portuguese used this river estuary as the
passage to seek their business fortune in the eastern part of India. It is told
that the Dutch had established a factory at Baliapal, however, no trace of it
can be found. Yet there are vestiges of British East India Company sheds,
warehouses, canals and bunds that can be seen as one drive through the
countryside."

Puri Beach
This destination certainly needs no introduction. This beach in the pilgrim city of Puri is the most popular beach in Odisha and the largest in the country. Visitors can enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset, sunbathe, sit back on the beach and watch local fishermen pulling their catch or mending their nets play with the waves, along with listening to the melodious rendition of the striking waves.

Chandrabhaga, Puri also has a lighthouse which remains open from 4 pm to 6 pm.
One can get a spectacular view of the sea and the beach from the top of the
lighthouse.

The Sunapur beach, 40km from here, which is famous as a popular picnic spot situated on the mouth of Bahuda river in Ganjam district, is reeling from official neglect.
"This
spot attracts the picnickers most as the beach is picturesque with a large
number of casuarina trees. People can enjoy the beauty of a nearby river mouth.
The newly constructed bridge has made the beach accessible," he said. Though
the beach has the potential to attract more tourists, it is yet to be tapped.
"There is no urinal and toilet, chairs and pathways among the casuarina
trees. Out of the five tube wells installed there, three have become defunct.

- How to Reach : In Odisha, Talasari is 36 km s from Jaleshwar, is the nearest railway station and Bhubaneswar is the nearest airport and is 300 km from Talasari. It's also well connected to Baleswar. However, from West Bengal side, Talasari is only 8–10 km away from Digha. Most visitors of Talasari are from Bengal anyway. Recently two trains have been launched from Howrah (Kolkata) to New Digha, it is approximately 4 hours journey . From New Digha railway station, you can hire a cab / other local transport(Motor-van & Bike) to reach Talasari.
